The way I hear stuff on the receiving end, tho, is much worse than what those mics can do, at least it seems like that to my ears. Now, I have used a laptop's and an iphone's built-in microphone, and although they are not a professional microphone, they are certainly sufficiently good to record ideas and such. I would imagine this is because of shitty microphones, but, I figure it's also gotta be because of the way audio is compressed as it goes from one device to the other. I regularly give music lessons to students online, and the audio quality is usually abysmal. Sorry if this is not the place to ask questions along these lines.but I figured I'd give it a shot either way.
